Technology on monday!

Hi guys welcome back to my blog today I will be talking about technology.At technology there is four thing you do and every term you change.Right now I am in woodwork but there is three more:Woodwork,Cooking,Plastics,Sewing.Right now I am making a box that will look like lego when it's done but I have already made a key chain that is a W.Guess that is it for this blog with a question what one out of those four is you favourites right in the comments bye.

Swimming lessons!

Welcome back to my blog.Today I will be talking to you about swimming lessons at Qell. Every day for to weeks we have been doing swimming lessons at Qell. We have been doing:Backstroke,Freestyle,Survivor  backstroke,Breath-stroke and more.It has been so fun.And we have also been allowed to jump in the deep end and we got to dive.As a treat we also got stuff thrown into the pool and without googles had to get them.Well that's all for today blog which leaves me a question do you like to swim? Swimming Sports!

Hi guys welcome back to my Blog today I will be talking about swimming sports.At school we went to jelly park and we got to swim.Since now I am a year 7/8 I have to choose two swimming styles.I choose 25 metre Freestyle and 25 metre backstroke.Sadly I didn't get in the top three but I got to have fun.Then we went on the bus and went back to school.Well that's it for today with a question what place  did you come in swimming sports leave in the comments bye!

Selling bath bombs on Market day!

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about design and the big question was; How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product?

First we learned what STEAM stood for.
S for Science
T for Technology
E for Engineering
A for the Arts
and M for Maths
Then we were given challenges. The first to make a chair using newspaper, string and straws that was able to hold a figure made out of multi-link blocks.
Then; make a table that was able to balance MnMs for the team. We were much better at the second challenge because  is what someone in my group told me because I was doing the bike track that we are making but it was much easier because the MnMs stayed on the table

In Literacy we learned to write up science experiments and to write a technology report using the design process of ask, imagine, plan, create, improve and share.

Our next step was to form teams and ask ourselves the big question again.
How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product? Our aim was to create enough products or experiences and sell it to raise money for charity.

My team made all sort of different bath bombs and the red ones were strawberry sent and we had jumbo bath bombs,two pack bath bombs,three pack bath bombs and we had failed bath bombs that were crumbled but then we could the crumbled bath bombs and we sold all of the bath bombs.

My highlight from this PBL was selling the bath bombs which was a huge success  and we made up two $28 dollars and we sold out and then my second highlight was definitely buying other stuff.

Next time I would change the crumbled bath bombs because they took ages to sell but at least we got to sell them.Well that's all with a question what do you think I should change next time I do a market day write in the comments.

Magnificent Market day!!!

Hello Guys welcome back to my blog today I will be telling you about the market day at our school.For the market day I am making bath bombs and selling them for only  two dollars and I am hoping people will buy them.The bath bombs come with different scents and different colours so then when you come out of the bath you will smell nice.Also in are group we are doing boys vs girls and the boys will win.Well that's the end with a question what sort of bath bomb smell do you like write in the comments.

Craig smith came to our school

Hi guys William here back with another blog and today with saw the author off the top selling book the wonky donkey came and I got my book signed bye Craig smith and if you want the website here is the Page and it has a kid section and heaps of cool stuff so check it out.Craig showed us his brand new song but I cant show you I should have recorded it was so good and we got to have a workshop with him and he said writing always come's first and apparently you need a whitespace. A whitespace is somewhere where you cant get distracted and you can just write he said he has a cabana with no technology.

The great Tumu performance

Hi guys welcome back to my blog.This term our Project Based Learning is cultural stories.
And the big question was;

What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?

First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas.
Culture is where you are from,stories,traditional food,clothes and dances.

Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and heritage.
I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.

In Literacy we read myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends.
I read Hatupatu and the bird-woman.I retold the legend of Maui and the sun in my own words.

We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains.
Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork.
Some worked on the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

For our production I contributed by doing the art I did an emoji and I did the background for the story

I think the show might impact on others by making them care more about culture and stories.

What I learned about working with others was that don't be afraid to show your talent to People.
